I chose Dr. Dre Beats commercial because it is a well- known brand for its new line of ear phones/ head phones. I believe this commercial is effective and can be ineffective also.
Effective:
- Dre Beats block out outside sounds.
- Dre Beats are used by various artists when listening and making music.
- Dr Beats let you hear the true music that you don't get with regular ear/ head phones.
Ineffective:
- Dre. Beats are super pricey.
- People don't hear the difference between Dre Beats and regular ear phones.
- Customers are just paying for the brand name.
In conclusion, they are trying to persuade people to buy Dre Beats so that they can hear the true music without any distractions.

ReplyDeleteI really liked this advertisement. It is put together perfectly and its crazy to see how many people use beats headphones. My boyfriend just got a new phone with beats audio and paid extra for the audio that really doesn't sound any different then a normal smart phones audio. I would say beats advertisement is very affective because the advertisements are hip and cool, but mainly because Dr. Dre is a bad ass.
ReplyDeleteBrook, I would like to see you connect the elements you listed to the author's intended use of common rhetorical tools such as logos, ethos or pathos. For example the choice of Dr. Dre in and of itself lends credibility to the product due to his reputation in the music industry. This is an example of an "ethical appeal" or use of the rhetorical tool of "ethos". Does this make sense. If you look closer at methodology instead of the product itself these concepts will reveal themselves.
